Freedom Recovery Ministry

Have you ever said to anyone, I am Spiritual not Religious?  Typically this is something we will say when we are sharing some intimate advice, experience, strength or hope in God.  For those of us that are Christian, why do we feel it is necessary to utilize this disclaimer?

For me it is not an embarrassment of my Faith as a Christian as much as it is a testament to the negative connotations that the Christian Right has bombarded the press, media and politics with.  Thrusting their message of intolerance on our Nation and the World at large.  To me it has become an embarrassment to the Christian Faith.

In the Bible, the Gospel of John chapter 8 verses 1 to 11, on the Mount of Olives Jesus is confronted by the Pharisees with a situation of a woman caught in adultery.  They said to Jesus the Law of Moses says to put her to death, what do you say?  What was Jesus’ response to the Naysayer's?  He knelt and drew a line in the sand and said, “Alright hurl the stones at her until she dies.  But only he who never sinned may throw the first stone”!  (vs.7)

Jesus taught a message of Love and redemption not condemnation and hate.  In fact when he did teach a punitive message he was typically teaching or addressing the Pharisees, Religious leaders and teachers of the law.  Not the people that needed his Love and compassion.

Freedom Recovery is a joint Ministry of Hope Wesleyan Church and HOME (Home Of Mercy for Everyone) Church it is a non-judgmental Ministry that shares the Love, Compassion, and Joy of Jesus to all who are burdened, or are simply looking for a fresh start to Worship and grow in the Christian Faith.

Everyone is welcome please allow the Freedom Recovery Ministry to Love you back to health!
